Quarry Hill Nature Center strives to open eyes and minds through natural science discovery. And the Nature Center does just that by offering a wide variety of programs, workshops, classes, and special events regarding information on local wildlife. It also has many resources including a large hands-on exhibit hall, room for indoor classes and ski and snowshoe rental.
The Nature Center houses over 100 mounted animals, a 1,700-gallon fish tank, live animals, an indoor beehive, and a bird watching room. The center is built on Quarry Hill Park, a 290-acre city park with many trails, fossil bed, fishing pond, caves, and a picnic area. Quarry Hill offers kindergarten through 8th grade curriculum based field trips during the school year for more than 35,000 annual student visits.
