It's About Time Theater strives to fulfill their mission to inspire, showcase, educate and support women through theater. IAT inspires audiences by using their productions to encourage women and girls to look beyond limiting stereotypes, and by reaching out to groups such as the Girl Scouts, sororities, women’s shelters and women’s correctional facilities.
IAT showcases women by producing new or existing plays written by women, or where the primary roles are portrayed by women, or where women’s issues are the central theme.
IAT educates women through classes and workshops which train women in the arts of theater, from lighting and set design to sword fighting and stage battle. IAT also engages the public by challenging their perceptions of what both women and theater can be.
Finally, IAT supports women by providing a venue that compensates and values their theatrical endeavors.
