The Honors Choirs of Southeast Minnesota is a nonprofit organization consisting of four youth choirs made up of young people in grades 3-12.
The organization was founded in 1992 as a single high school choir and quickly expanded to its present four choirs involving about 240 singers who come from 27 southeast Minnesota communities and 52 different area schools. Membership is by audition and is open to all youth in grades 3-12 who reside in southeast Minnesota.
The choirs rehearse weekly in Rochester throughout the academic year preparing challenging repertoire, learning music history and theory, and practicing ear training techniques. There are at least five regular season concerts/events, and singers also perform in outreach concerts and participate in post-season tours.
