A tour of the Historic Mayowood Mansion will take you back in time as you explore the estate of Doctors Charles H. and Charles W. Mayo, founders of the Mayo Clinic, and was home to three generations of the Mayo family. The Mayowood Estate was created between 1911-1938. The 38-room mansion and ornamental gardens are the main attraction of the estate.
In 1965, the Mayo family donated the 10 acre estate to the Olmsted County Historical Society. In 1970, Mayowood became an official Minnesota Historic Site and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
