The Children's Theatre Company (CTC) strives to “create extraordinary theatre experiences that educate, challenge and inspire young people.”
The CTC was founded in 1965 as The Moppet Players. The organization produced unique dramas, dance and theatre for kids. Later that same year, The Moppet Players relocated to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and ten years later became incorporated as The Children's Theatre Company.
Over the years, the CTC has developed into one of world’s largest professional theatre companies for young people. Each year, 275,000 to 350,000 young people and families participate in the CTC’s five key program areas: stage productions, new play development, community partnerships, theatre arts training, and an annual regional tour.
