Stairs from the street entrance take you down into the lower level of the old grocery warehouse-turned bistro/coffeehouse. Here, over a Scotch or an American brewpub beer or an Irish coffee, you can sit at one of the cozy tables and bask in the wainscoting-and-wood furniture decor while (on most nights) listening to live jazz or blues. It is, in a word, sophisticated. And, for Rochester, open late. Redwood is open until 10 p.m. on Sunday, 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
