One of Rochester's best-kept secrets is the Backroom Deli, an 18-seat all-vegan (they serve no animal products or byproducts) restaurant located in the back of the Good Food Store Co-op. The deli offers everything from tofu salad sandwiches to gourmet veggie burgers, as well as soups, salads, and smoothies. "Not everything we serve is healthy, though," warns chef Devin Stephens, noting such indulgences as home fries and peanut-butter chocolate chip cookies.
