Freeborn County Fair (Albert Lea, MN)

The “Six Best Days of Summer” can be found at the Freeborn County Fair in Albert Lea, Minnesota. National music acts including Oak Ridge Boys, Craig Morgan, The Guess Who, Emerson Drive with Ashton Shepherd, and Jason Aldean will all perform at the Grandstand. Buffalo Bill Days (Lanesboro, MN)

In 1900, Buffalo Bill brought his Wild West Show to Lanesboro, and residents paid 50 cents to see “previously unseen feats from the Wild West” performed by “six Indians, the hero Colonel W. F. Cody” and a pair referred to as “White Beaver and Mr. Man.” A century later, the city still celebrates this visit with city-wide activities that include a flea market, art exhibits, food, live music, parade, softball and volleyball tournaments.

Minnesota Sesquicentennial Week (Waseca, MN)

Celebrating 150 years of Minnesota agriculture; Guided tours 10am-2pm each day. Saturday night (7-11pm) enjoy old time music with the Peter and Paul Wendinger Band at the dance. Steele County Free Fair (Owatonna, MN)

This event is Minnesota's largest county fair with attendance of 250,566 in 2007. There are 7,000 exhibits, 2,000 animals, 26 bands, 10 grandstand shows and 3 free stages. There will be over 100 food stands, 30 rides and 500 commercial displays from 26 states. Check website for schedule of events.

Borderfest 2008 (Emmons, MN)

Borderfest 2008 will be held in August again this year. The dates are Friday the 15th and Sat. the 16th. We have the same groups for entertainment this year (2008) as we had last year: The Johnny Holm Band plays on Friday, and Whiskey Rose Band performs on Saturday night. Dobie Days – A Salute to Vets (Harmony, MN)

Dobie Days is a music festival with a military theme. Enjoy all types of music, from rock to country to soul. Dobie Days Ride is on August 16th 10 a.m. $10 per rider. Downtown Oronoco Gold Rush Days, Inc. (Oronoco, MN)

In the middle of August each year, 400 vendors and 1,200 antique and collectible booths turn downtown Oronoco, Minnesota into a gigantic outdoor market filled with fun, color and the excitement of discovery around every corner! The event, which began over 35 years ago, is put on by the people of Oronoco, for the people of Oronoco. The Gold Rush is nonprofit and all proceeds are channeled back to community projects.

Corn on the Cob Days (Plainview, MN)

Community wide summer festival featuring numerous bands, dances, sales events, sports tournaments and parade. The city-wide garage sale will begin Friday morning and continue all weekend. On Sunday enjoy all the corn on the cob, donated by Lakeside Foods, you can eat from 11am to 3pm. On average between 8 and 10 tons of corn are served in that time period.
